Holy Trinity School and ELC Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) working group is reconvening and are looking for interested teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students and community members to join our team.
A RAP is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation. The working group establishes RAP Actions for our school community moving into a new year.
The Holy Trinity vision for reconciliation is:
Our vision for reconciliation begins with our acknowledgement of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the original owners and custodians of Australia, and our recognition that their culture and heritages shapes the cultural heritage of all Australians. Our commitment mirrors our values of: - upholding the equality, dignity and worth of each person - nurturing personal growth, self esteem, resilience and wellbeing - valuing diversity through empathy understanding and the appreciation of others - building strong partnerships, inclusive of all in our community - strengthening global perspectives and active stewardship - maintaining mutual respect in relationships, promoting peace and justice. Our vision is that of a Nation that acknowledges and celebrates the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original custodians of this land. This is an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other Australian peoples have shared understanding and mutual respect of each others cultures and enjoy equal opportunities for participation in our community.
Some of our current and past RAP Actions include recognising and celebrating National Days of Significance, developing an understanding of Acknowledgement of Country, Visible respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures – plus more.
