Opening Reflection for Lent
Dear Friends,
Yesterday marked the beginning of Lent and a time for us to prepare for the great celebration of Christ's Paschal Mystery at Easter. The ashes on Wednesday are obtained from the burning of palms of the previous Palm Sunday. Lent is a six week period (excluding Sundays) dedicated to prayer, giving alms, fasting and reflection. We encourage the students at Holy Trinity to focus on what they can do during Lent to help others; particular focus will be on fundraising for those affected with devastating loss over the summer months with the horrendous bush fires.
In our Parish during Lent there will be opportunity to attend the Stations of the Cross (Tuesday 7-7:30pm ) alternating with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st of March. Our Parish will also be hosting the Regional 2nd rite of Reconciliation on Wednesday 8th of April. During Week 10 will will also be sharing together prayer celebrations outlining the significant events in Holy Week and Easter.
