ELC News
Dear families,
Next week we observe Reconciliation Week. We are intentional in embedding aboriginal perspectives in all we do, but in celebrating and recognising this important week, we welcome Larry Brandy, an Aboriginal Story-teller to the ELC to visit all classes and Adam Shipp, who will teach the children about traditional bush tucker and help establish our bush tucker garden.
Today Larry Brandy visited the Rock Wallaby class, and ABC news took footage of Larry story-telling with the children. This will be aired on ABC 7pm news in the coming days.
This Saturday the ELC will be having a targeted working bee, assembling the new cubby house. Thank you to the volunteers who have already confirmed their help. Assembling of the cubby will begin at 10am.
In Week 8, the ELC will host face-to-face learning conferences with parents. The booking link will be sent out to families (via Szapp and Seesaw) next week. BSC/ASC can provide care for your preschool child if necessary to enable parents to attend.
Thank you to families who are continuing to observe physically distancing measures when arriving at or leaving the ELC. Please continue to encourage thorough handwashing procedures with your child when arriving at school (and at home too) to ensure good handwashing practices are reinforced.
After School Care has a new Winter menu, if you would like to make any suggestions to the menu, please contact our ASC Coordinator Sarah James. sarah.james@cg.catholic.edu.au
