Walk to School Day’ (& dress up) TOMORROW 11/9/20.

This Friday is National ‘walk safely to school day’. The day aims to promote the healthy benefits of walking but also reduce pollution and traffic congestion by going without the car.

There will be parents walking (and parking and walking) and positioning themselves at key entry points to the school to help and encourage children as they arrive. Some groups walking are as follows: 

• Sarah Collins will be walking from Deakin around 830am and will enter the school via the carpark entry
• Anne Hitchings and Co. will be meeting at North Curtin Oval (Baseball field side) from 8am and will help kids walk up McCulloch Street.
• Cass Glass and Emelia Bailey will be walking up from the underpass from around 840am and enter the school from around the back of the basketball courts
• Kate Lategui will be positioned at the front of the school from 830am (across the road on Carruthurs St) to help children cross over.
• And finally….. Mrs Casey will be up near the veranda with music by DJ Feerick handing out stickers, treats and the like.

Please feel free to join the groups walking to the school or meet them at the various entry points.

Friday is also dress up day where kids dress like teachers and teachers dress like students. This will no doubt add to the walk to school fun! Children are asked to bring a gold coin to join in the fun with all money donated to our Global School Partner school in Kenya.
