Welcome Message from the Principal
Jesus himself stood
among them and
said to them,
‘Peace be with
you!’
Lk 24:36
Dear Friends,
Last Friday we joined together to commemorate ANZAC Day and the significance such a day as this means to us in 2021. I was so grateful for all our parents who serve ,that were able to be present and participate in the Prayer Celebration. I was particularly touched with the reflection that Major Niki Maple (Geoffrey Year 6) shared with us at the end of her ANZAC Day explanation as follows:
My family has given three generations of service to Australia with my grandfather serving in WWII, fighting against the Japanese in Papua New Guinea, my father serving in the Vietnam War, fighting against the North Vietnamese Army and myself, whilst not serving in a conflict, deployed to Egypt on a peacekeeping mission in 2013. Interestingly, although my grandfather fought against the Japanese, my sisters and I while at high school all studied Japanese, and had Japanese exchange students live with our family, as well as going to Japan on exchange ourselves. And again, despite my father fighting against the Vietnamese, the Army sent me to live in Vietnam, learn the Vietnamese language and work with the Vietnamese Army.
The key thing to remember from these examples is that although we may have had a disagreement with someone yesterday or today, that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends tomorrow. While it is important to remember the past, we shouldn’t live in the past.
The enrolment period for the 2022 school year will begin next Monday, 3 May and closes on Friday 28 May.
If you have a child who attends Preschool or who attends the Holy Trinity ELC, please note that you will still need to complete the online enrolment form for your child to attend Holy Trinity Primary School.

It is always a privilege to welcome prospective families into our School and ELC in May each year. I always love to talk about all the opportunities given to our students and community that I feel incredibly proud of, and grateful for. It is also wonderful watching our Year 6 leaders take families on tours and listen to all the aspects of life at Holy Trinity that they love too. Last Wednesday night at our parent meeting, I was given the opportunity again to share with families significant reasons that make Holy Trinity the best choice for families looking at a Catholic coeducational school from ELC to Year 6. We had many ex- students return for the evening and give some proud testimonials about how being a student at Holy Trinity to Year 6 has enabled them such broad experiences, and given them great skills that have helped positively transition them into high school. We will share more about this evening over the next two weeks in our newsletters and on our school website.
As mentioned in a message sent out earlier today, we have been notified by ACT Sport and Recreation that there is misunderstanding and a double booking at the Athletics Track at Woden for tomorrow. Thus we are unable to host our Athletics carnival at this venue tomorrow. We have now been able to secure a booking at the Athletics Park for Friday 14th of May. I sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. We will send out another permission note early next week for the 14th of May. Because of this postponement, the school tuck shop will now be open tomorrow and Qkr is now open for tomorrow's lunch ordering.
Congratulations to Danjela Johnson (Ameila 2W) who has recently had a baby boy, Jake! Please keep the Bayada family in your prayers (Mary 3 /4B and Henry 1G) as Alana's father passed away recently.
With every best wish for a holy and peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families. Enjoy this glorious autumn weather!
