Welcome Message from the Principal

happy_mothers_day_2_.jpg

There is but one and only one,
Whose love will fail you never.
One who lives from sun to sun,
With constant fond endeavour.

There is but one and only one
On earth there is no other.
In heaven a noble work was done
When God gave us a Mother.

Dear Friends,

It is so lovely to begin the newsletter with a focus on the wonderful gift of Mothers!  I look forward to our Mother's Day Kinder Prayer assembly on  tomorrow.  Thank you to Mark and Lisa Bauer and our P and F community for the organisation of the Mother's Day stall also happening on Friday. Please note that as we still have COVID restrictions in the hall, we can only have Kinder mothers and grandmothers in attendance with the school for the Kinder Prayer celebration at 9:30am.

This week has seen the beginning of Enrolment Period for Holy Trinity  school and ELC.  It has been once again, so wonderful and with a great sense of pride, to see our Year 6 leaders taking prospective families around our school.  The way they speak so highly of all that Holy Trinity has to offer and has given them, is just so heart warming.  This was also evident at the parent meeting we held recently about the benefits of a attending Holy Trinity, as a coeducational Catholic IB school from the ELC/Kindergarten to Year 6.  Below is the link to the information shared to parents at this night and also some quotes from participants-  our school board chair, Scott Pearsall, former and current parents, staff and from former and current students.

"Every student has the opportunity to be a leader in Year 6" (current Year 6 student).

"As a proud mum, who has seen great skills developed at Holy Trinity, it is rewarding watching these skills being applied when our students move to High School" (current parent).

"If students are fully engaged in high quality teaching and learning, then discipline and structure need not be the main reason  for choosing a school " (former parent).

"At Holy Trinity high expectations are set, with essential agreements formulated right from the beginning of the year, and we uphold this together" (current teacher).

"It is important to talk to our children at a young age about the opportunities for students at Holy Trinity up to Year 6, especially with the leadership roles." (current parent).

"Year 5 and 6 students are highly regarded at Holy Trinity and the younger students look up to them with great respect and admiration"(current teacher).

"I had an advantage staying at Holy Trinity to Year 6 in an IB setting, as I was able to use the skills I had developed to help me achieve (to a high standard)" (former student).

"The PYP program gets children to think ....do not undervalue the skills children learn in a PYP setting. Thinking skills developed at Holy Trinity bring such richness to chidlren's learning and the multidisciplinary approach here is the way the world is going" (current parent).

"As a parent of girls, I think it is also important for them to have a coeducational setting to Year 6 as they need socialisation with boys.  We need to think about how important coeducation is for everyone" (current parent).

"What children get out of Year 6 and Exhibition is incredible! The opportunities given to our Year 6 students gives them confidence and skills to thrive in High School" (former parent).

"The quality of education does not come down to how flash your buildings are, it comes down to the quality of the teachers and staff...Happy students and great learning is what shows a great school. There is something very special about Holy Trinity" (current parent).

With every best wish for a holy and peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.  Enjoy Mother's Day; sending happy thoughts and prayers to all our mothers, wherever they may be.
