Dear Friends,
This week we celebrate Reconciliation Week, where we are focussing on the importance of love and care for all.
Our 2 Red class shared with us a prayer celebration for Reconciliation on Tuesday, using the bible passage from Corinthians ( 1 Corinthians13:4-7), to focus on the importance of love. The Reading reminds us that we need to work with each other and for everyone in our community, our wider family. We complete each other and give each other joy. The reading reminds us to be humble, forgive and learn from others. We are to be like Jesus and love all.
Over the past week, our commitment towards reconciliation has deepened further as we extended the conversation into different areas of learning. Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) was delighted to welcome Anthony Cowley, a parent from our school community, who shared the fascinating subject of Bush Tucker. The session highlighted both Indigenous knowledge and the cultural significance of flora and fauna while providing a vibrant and tactile opportunity to appreciate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions to Australia's unique biodiversity. Meanwhile, our Year 5 learners continued exploring how value-driven action can foster change and contribute to reconciliation. By drawing connections between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and current reconciliation data in Australia, they demonstrated how our collective efforts towards equality and fairness can lead to positive change. Their insightful reflection was a practical example of how local actions can contribute to global impacts. These engagements remind us that love, learning, and respect for all are at the core of our journey towards reconciliation.
This week I invited parents to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and well being at Holy Trinity Primary School.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL code I sent you via Compass at the beginning of the week. This is to ensure security, so that only Holy Trinity parents are accessing the survey to complete. Please note that access to this survey will close on Friday 9th of June at 4:30pm.
Congratulations to the Khera family (Sierra 1 Red) on the recent birth of a beautiful baby boy! We look forward to also presenting our Year 6 Confirmation candidates this weekend at our Parish Masses.
Have a wonderful weekend and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.
