ELC News
Preschool Learning Journeys
The ELC will be hosting Learning Journeys on 19-23 June (Week 9). This is an opportunity for families to view the classroom learning environment, child's learning portfolio, reflect together on the learning and create goals for Semester Two. There is no need to schedule your learning journey visit, but if you would like time to speak with your child's teacher, please contact them directly for a meeting.
July School Holiday Program
The ELC is now taking bookings for the July School Holiday Program which runs from 3-17 July (Monday 17 July is a system wide pupil free day). The holiday program provides a relaxing, fun and engaging space for Preschool and Kindergarten children. Please click here to book your child in for some or all available days.
Child Care Subsidy
Most families in the ELC will get more CCS. Some families previously not eligible for CCS will now get it.
What's changing?
From 10 July:
-
The family income limit to get CCS is increasing to $530,000.
-
The maximum amount of CCS is increasing from 85% to 90%.
-
Families earning $80,000 or less will get 90% subsidy.
-
Families earning over $80,000 and under $530,000 will get a subsidy that tapers down from 90%, depending on their income. The subsidy will go down 1% for each $5,000 earned.
-
Families earning below $362,408 with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can still get a higher rate for their second and younger children.
-
Families can get at least 36 hours of subsidised care per fortnight for each Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child in their care, regardless of their activity level.
What do families need to do?
Families already getting CCS don’t need to do anything to get the new rates. Services Australia will apply the changes for you from 10 July.
Families that earn between $356,756 and $530,000 may be entitled to CCS from 10 July. Families that haven’t claimed CCS, should lodge a claim with Services Australia.
If you already get CCS, you don’t need to do anything. If you think you may become eligible, lodge a CCS claim with Services Australia.
Stay and Play
Stay and Play is a playgroup for pre-preschoolers and their carer each Wednesday in school term 9am-10am in the ELC Adventure Garden (weather permitting). All families and the broader community are welcome to attend.
