The coming weeks promise continued opportunities for engaging in meaningful reconciliation related events such as Indigenous Literacy Day, the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry Mass and learning more about the upcoming Voice Referendum.

The Holy Trinity The Great Book Swap in support of Indigenous Literacy Day

The Great Book Swap is a fantastic way to celebrate reading locally, learn more about Indigenous Languages and culture, while raising funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Over the next week we ask ALL students to donate a book from their home library for the SWAP.

On Wednesday 6 September we invite students to bring a gold coin (or note!) to school to spend at the Book Swap. Everyone will walk away with a ‘new’ book to read.

This event provides an opportunity to discuss with your children the literacy (and education gap) that exists for first nation Australians and why programs such as the Indigenous Literacy Foundation are essential.
