Teachers as Learners: Embracing Programme Development Plans

At Holy Trinity, our ongoing pursuit of growth and improvement is deeply embedded in our core values and mission. This year, the steadfast commitment of our educators to professional development and student success has truly reflected our school's ethos. Working together with parents and the broader Holy Trinity community, we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional educational experience that nurtures holistic development, in harmony with our vision of fostering inspiring connections with God, ourselves, our learning, and the world around us.

Our Programme Development Plan (PDP) teams, which include all Holy Trinity Teaching Staff, have reached significant milestones. Through a thorough process of self-study, the teams identified areas for professional improvement focusing on student learning, analysed current data, and set ambitious targets. In the spirit of collaboration, they developed and implemented strategies to achieve these objectives, consistently reflecting on the outcomes. This journey culminated in a collective celebration and sharing of progress with our entire teaching community on Monday, 13th November.

These initiatives and presentations have deepened our collective understanding of concept-based inquiry and the PYP Approaches to Learning, and have enhanced our framework for social-emotional learning. They have also led to innovative changes in our assessment strategies. This holistic process ensures that our educational offerings are both intellectually engaging and emotionally supportive, truly mirroring the inspiring connections at the heart of our school's philosophy.

The collegiality and mutual support evident throughout this process have reinforced our belief that our shared expertise is crucial in achieving outstanding educational outcomes. The event last Monday was more than an acknowledgment of this year's achievements; it signified a recommitment to our ongoing path of continuous improvement. It honoured the diligent and innovative efforts of our educators, whose work is essential to the lifeblood of our school. As we look ahead to 2024, our dedication to professional growth and collaborative excellence is unwavering. We are resolute in our journey to provide an education that not only exemplifies academic distinction but also fosters the values and relationships that shape our students into empathetic, informed global citizens.
