Welcome to Week 1
Dear families and friends,
It has been so wonderful to see the way our students have returned to Term 3 with a spring in their step and an enthusiasm for learning. With stories of exciting holiday adventures the learners have enjoyed being back together with their classes.
This term we welcome the Austin family to Year 4 & Kinder, the De Matos Carnieto family to Kinder and the Sigdel family to Year 4. We know they will be very happy in our Holy Trinity community and please welcome them when you get a chance.
2024 Olympics
There is alot of excitement building around the 2024 Olympics in Paris. As an IB World School we have been researching countries and will be holding our own HT Opening Ceremony. Each class has selected a country of significance to their class and will be dressing in the coloiurs of their chosen country on Friday. We are looking forward to learning more about each of the countries across the next 2 weeks and sharing stories of perseverance, challenge and success.
International-mindedness is central to the IB mission and is a foundational principle to its educational philosophy.
International-mindedness is a view of the world in which people see themselves connected to the global community and assume a sense of responsibility towards its members. It is an awareness of the interrelatedness of all nations and peoples, and is a recognition of the complexity of these. Internationally minded people appreciate and value the diversity of peoples, cultures and societies in the world. They make efforts to learn more about others and to develop empathy and solidarity towards them to achieve mutual understanding and respect (Oxfam 2105; UNESCO 2015).
Our learners at Holy Trinity have a range of perspectives, values and traditions. The concept of international-mindedness builds on these diverse perspectives to generate a sense of common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet.
