Hello and welcome to Week 9. Below are a few Book Week reflections written by a few of the very clever HT children. Enjoy.
Book Week 2025..
Book Week at Holy Trinity was amazing - it was a truly magical place. Everywhere you looked something would be happening whether it was a play or a performance, pass the parcel, a competition, a visit from an author, a parade, or a funny play.
My favourite part of Book Week was probably the teachers' play. It was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I liked when Mr Roweth threw the oats. I also really enjoyed the visit from Katrina Nannestad. The parade was another one of my favourite bits. I loved watching all the kids march around the school in their costumes.
This year the children’s book council of Australia chose
- I’m not really here was the winner for older readers
- Laughter is the best ending was the winner for younger children
- The wobbly bike won the category early childhood
- Always was always will be won the category Eve Pownall Award
- Grow big little seed won the Award for new illustrator category
- And the best picture book of the year was The Truck Cat!
This year the theme was Book an Adventure and it was a true adventure when Perform Education came to Holy Trinity. There was a play with 2 teams - one was Treeland and one was Sea view. It was fun. Each team had a team chant.
Another highlight of Book Week was the parade. It was so fun watching all the kids match around in their amazing costumes. Every costume I saw made me wonder what I should dress up as next year. All the costumes that I saw were stunning!
Lots of kids love Book Week and I’d say it was one of the most fun times of the year at Holy Trinity. It is a truly fun and amazing place when Book Week is happening. So, in conclusion Book Week is so fun and exciting when plays, performances, a competition, a parcel, a parade, or visits from authors are happening. Everywhere you look there’s a little bit of Book Week magic happening and we also must give Miss Mertz a big thank you for organising all these spectacular events for us.

Book Week 2025
Book Week 2025 was AWESOME! The theme was BOOK AN ADVENTURE. There were so many fun things to do; there was a Katrina Nannestad visit, fairy house competition, costume parade, Perform Education play and even a play by the Teachers -they did Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Everyone dressed up in epic costumes.
My favourite part was the teacher's play. It was so fun to watch.
We had lots of fun, and we had lots of fun things to do.
Congratulations to the winning books - The Truck Cat and The Wobbly Bike.

Congratulations to Miss Eva VL in 5G – Eva wrote a thoughtful letter with lots of great questions to Katrina Nannestad. Eva then received in the post the most amazing letter back from Katrina. It was a tiny scrap book filled with lots of answers to Eva’s questions.
Finally, if you have any spare calico bags looking for a new home, our ‘spare library bag box’ is looking frightfully empty.
Enjoy the holidays and don’t forget to make time to enjoy a good book xx
