Lord, open up our hearts so that we may hear the message you teach of a world in which the wrongs of the past are recognised - a world in which a reconciled people walk and talk together sharing stories; a world in which all burn with the desire to have your peace and justice reign.
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Reconciliation Week 2022 at Holy Trinity School and ELC! 'National Reconciliation Week—27 May to 3 June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia (Reconciliation Australia).' The theme for 2022 is 'Be Brave, Make Change'. Here at Holy Trinity we have celebrated in classes and as a whole school by learning about the apology to the Stolen Generations, watching a performance by Torres Straight Islander performer, Dion Drummond and exploring First Nations artefacts (did you know- a woomera uses the same design principles as a dog ball thrower!) On Friday we will mark the conclusion of Reconciliation week with a whole school Prayer Liturgy ( thank you Ms Lee and 3 /4 Red) and a series of rotations run by our Yr 6 leaders. Students will play Yulunga Games, test their knowledge with a reconciliation quiz and create a 'Sea of Hands' including personal commitments to Be Brave and Make Change in our own lives. We encourage our community to checkout our installation in the front gardens from Friday afternoon!
Community members are always welcome to join our Reconciliation Action Plan working group, please contact Rose Lee if interested: rosemary.devereux@cg.catholic.edu.au
Last Thursday, we once again celebrated our students achievements with our Week 5 Awards Assembly. Congratulations to the following students for this very proud milestone:

This week I will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process. We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and well being at Holy Trinity
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the link I will send today via Compass. Please note that is survey will close next Friday 10th of June.
Year 5 and 6 children will also be invited to complete the student survey- a separate note will go home on COMPASS tomorrow about this with the option to withdraw.
Thank you again for your understanding with our Pupil Free Day last Friday. A reminder for the following two Pupil free days coming up in the next couple of months:
- Friday 1st July (last day of Term 2)
- Monday 18th July (first day fo Term 3)
Both our ELC and Kids Biz will be offering care for Monday 18th of July and Kids Biz for the 1st of July. (ELC will classes as normal for this day).
Another important date I would like to flag with you is on Wednesday 29 June. The P&F is hosting an information session on Wednesday 29 June 2022 from 7-8pm in the school library to speak with parents on how you can connect, become involved and volunteer within the school. Each year Holy Trinity’s Parents and Friends (P&F) Association run a number of fundraising events and school activities such as the Mother/Father’s Day stalls, special tuckshop days, uniform shop, and in 2023 the school fete. These activities require a lot of community support and involvement and the P&F is looking to rebuild our school’s volunteer database. We will also like to begin exploring ideas for next years school fete and keen to hear from you about what elements are important when running such an event. If you are interested to volunteer for school activities but unsure how to, or have an idea about stalls for next years fete please come along to our informal gathering and chat with current P&F members. Please also come if you would like to meet some of our parents, but have been unable to have this opportunity until now because of restrictions. Light refreshments will be offered. We hope to see many of you on the night and encouraged parents to become involved and participate in this important parenting network.
If you would like to be involved but unable to attend please email your details to htpspffundraising@gmail.com’- thank you Rowena.
Please keep in your prayers the Nikoloau Family (Aimee Year 5) for the loss of their grandmother recently. Please also keep in your prayers Antonija Rover (Italian teacher) who continues to recover at home. We hope to welcome her back to Holy Trinity very soon as she is greatly missed!
Have a wonderful weekend (stay warm!) and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families. Please do not hesitate to reach out for anything at all and continue to stay safe.
