Blessed Trinity
It is impossible to rationally unravel
The mystery of eternal unity
I ponder “persons, personalities,
One community of eternal love”
But these acceptable theologies
Quickly wear thin in my inner domain.
So I decide to view you another way.:
Three dancing spheres of pure love,
Entwined with ribbons of spun gold,
Threading through everything that exists.
Threading through everything that exists.
Ribbons of golden love dance in my heart
Dear Friends,
It was wonderful to begin our week celebrating the Feast of the Holy Trinity, honouring the family of God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus asking that the disciples go out to all the nations and baptise them ‘in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’ is an instruction that is still being carried on today. Those precise words are used by the priest at every Baptism. They are also the words used in the sign of the cross – When we make the sign of the cross we use the words of Jesus. When we make the sign of the cross and listen to the gospel, think about the unconditional love of the of the Trinity and how it inspires us to deepen our love for one another.
Thank you to all parents who made cupcakes for all our classes to enjoy on Tuesday. It was also lovely to share both a Prayer Assembly on resilience with 3 /4 Blue and then a whole school Mass for our Feast Day.
It has also been wonderful this week to have parents and carers in our building, meeting with teachers and students to discuss learning successes and areas for growth. Parents/Carers will be able to access their child/ren's reports on Compass from Wednesday Week 10. You will be sent a Compass notification when these are able to be viewed on your parent portal.
Last week we also had our final school board meeting for the term and below are the reports from our Chair, Andrew Peereboom and our Tuck shop Coordinator, Cath Day:
Dear Holy Trinity Families,
On behalf of the school Board, I would like to start by thanking teaching and support staff for their continued commitment during the first half of the year. Despite the staffing shortages currently being faced, the staff at Holy Trinity have remained dedicated and agile in their delivery of education for our children. By completing the Tell Them From Me Partners in Learning survey (http://tellthemfromme.com/5nrcw) you will assist in providing valuable information to the school to help them continue to deliver on what is important to you, so please complete this if you have not already. Please note the cut off date for this survey is tomorrow, Friday 17 June.
The school Board has also been placing additional focus on the safety and well being of our children and have recently completed a Safety Audit of the school. This covered off policies and procedures being used throughout the school as well as inspected the school grounds and staff areas for compliance. The results were extremely positive with only a couple of minor issues identified which have already been closed out. An additional safety audit will be undertaken shortly, specifically focusing on the compliance of all playground equipment.
As we head into the winter break, I would like to wish Philippa Brearley well as she embarks on a well-deserved long service leave break to conquer the Camino de Santiago walk with her husband.

Now for a tuck shop update. The arrangement we have with our food provider, The Merchant’s Feast, is that they donate $0.50 from every meal back to the school. Since commencing with us, they have donated $2,325 to the school. It is great to see so many families using the tuck shop service which operates Wednesday to Friday. The Board has agreed to replace some outdated equipment in the tuck shop (glass sliding service shutters and sandwich press) along with installing a grease trap so the tuck shop can move from a heat and serve facility only, to a fully functional kitchen. Our tuck shop service would not be possible without the extraordinary assistance provided by the Year 6 Leadership Group. This Group arrives towards the end of each shift to finalise the packing of the meals and deliver the baskets to classes. What an amazing group they are, always showing initiative, teamwork and a willingness to get the job done, and all this with a smile. They are a delight to work with. Thank you also to all the wonderful family volunteers who come along to make sure we can continue to offer this important service in our school.

We are once again blessed by our Greek community at Holy Trinity who will be facilitating a sausages sizzle stall at their festival on Sunday to raise money for our school. It would be great to have some parent help on this stall- please see the detail below and contact if you are able to help.
As many of you would now know, Beulah has accepted a new position and, after many years of caring service at our school, will be finishing at Holy Trinity today. We also farewell at the end of this term, Simon Bugden, who has taken a new position in the Public Service. Simon has been a teacher at Holy Trinity for many years and both he and Beulah will be greatly missed. We will still continue to enjoy having Simon and his family in our community as a parents of Theo and Sadie. We thank both of them for all they have given to our community here at Holy Trinity and wish them continued success with their new adventures.
Please keep the Clark-Wellington family in your prayers as Xavier's (Year 1 ) grandfather passed away recently.
I look forward to sharing the Sacrament of Confirmation with many of our Year 6 families in our Parish next Tuesday and Wednesday night at Holy Trinity Church. Have a wonderful weekend (stay warm!) and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.
Please do not hesitate to reach out for anything at all and continue to stay safe.
Warmest wishes,
Philippa

Wow! What a generous community we have here at Holy Trinity. Today we had our second last fundraiser, Coin Heart. As we are still counting coins and had 2 classes on an excursion today, we will announce the winners next week!

Greek Day Festival this weekend!!!
This Sunday, we will be celebrating Canberra Greek Day and as you know, we don't mind a festival, good food and fundraising. So, Leo Exarhos & John Loukadellis have put our fundraising heads together and have locked in a ‘Holy Trinity Curtin Sausage Sizzle Stall’ for the day. The Greek Community won a multicultural grant and covered all costs of the stalls/marquees etc and our good friends at Cannons IGA in Googong are donating the bread and 1,000 sausages to help raise funds for the our school.
We would like to do a call out to the school parents for some help throughout the day, that would be great. Leo will be working the Canberra Olympic stall and John will be running around managing the Archbishop and our VIP’s for the day. We have a handful of volunteers for HTC already but would love a few more.
Below is the flyer for the day, fingers crossed we get over 10,000 people throughout the day, as we also were lucky to have locked in a famous Greek singer who will be performing live for us on the day.
Please contact Leo at leo.exarhos@accc.gov.au if you are able to help.
