SENDING HOME INFORMATION AND NEWS ABOUT EDUCATION (SHINE)
Welcome to our first edition of SHINE.
As I wrote about last week, here at Holy Trinity, we are committed to working together in partnership with parents, teachers, and community members, to create an educational experience that fosters, strengthens, and enhances a variety of learning experiences for your child.
Throughout the years gone by we have held numerous Parent Information Sessions. These sessions have been designed to support the journey of parents/ carers as they negotiate the education of their child. As we continue to navigate this ‘new covid norm’ we are excited to launch a new initiative SHINE (sending home information and news about education).
This platform will give us a new and long-awaited opportunity to reconnect with our parent community by sharing strategies and suggestions for how parents/carers can further assist their child/ren at home.
We hope you find lots of useful information, tips and practical strategies to support your child/ ren in this new platform
On Tuesday, the Church celebrated Saints Anne & Joachim, parents of Mary and grandparents of Jesus. It is good to reflect that Jesus was formed by the intergenerational community into which he was born. Not only did Anne & Joachim raise Mary, unknowingly, for her vocation as Mother of God but they may well have been intimately involved in Jesus’ childhood and adolescence and enjoyed that reciprocal affection which is typical between grandparents and their grandchildren.
We pray
Lord Jesus,
help families and society
to value the presence and role of grandparents.
May they never be ignored or excluded,
but always encounter respect and love.
Help them to live serenely and to feel welcomed
in all the years of life which you give them.
Mary, Mother of all the living,
keep grandparents constantly in your care,
accompany them on their earthly pilgrimage,
and by your prayers, grant that all families
may one day be reunited in our heavenly homeland,
where you await all humanity
for the great embrace of life without end.
Amen
