OPENING MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Catholic artist Michael O’Brien
On Monday we celebrated The Feast of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary by attending Mass with the Parish. The Feast of the Assumption is one of the most important feast days of the year and a Holy Day of Obligation on the official Roman Catholic Church calendar. This feast day has been celebrated in both the East and the West in an unbroken tradition for some 1500 years.
Let us pray that we will grow to trust God in our lives and shine with the radiance of God's love as Mary did. Lord Jesus, When we turn away from you, help us to remember that you walk with us. Amen

TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY
Thank you also for those who participated last term in our school annual survey. The Tell Them From Me Parent Survey provides the school with feedback on parents’ perceptions of the school’s support for learning, positive behaviours, and the promotion of safety and inclusion.
Insights from parents, staff, and students (year 5 and 6) all build an accurate and timely picture that we can use for practical improvements. This data was discussed at our School Board meeting recently.
Below are examples of some positive feedback that we received from parents which is always very well received and very much appreciated:
- We love how engaged and committed staff are at Holy Trinity - from the principal down.
- Sense of community
- The commitment to learning outcomes for children that need some extra help is commendable.
- There is a positive atmosphere of learning and mutual respect, generated by the school leadership.
- Holy Trinity is a high-quality school, with a great attitude and approach to education.
- I like the environment the school creates for my child. He can’t wait to get to school every day and comes home happy about all the things he has learnt / experienced
- We value the strength of the school's leadership team, and the high level of skill of the teaching team. We appreciate the work that is done to address the needs of the whole child.
- I love the focus on emotional and social wellbeing.
- Community spirit is wonderful, wonderful volunteers and receptive teachers
- We are so fortunate our children go to Holy Trinity. It is a safe and supportive and nurturing learning environment.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Katie
Assumption Mass
It was so wonderful to gather as a Parish Community at Mass on Monday morning to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption.
I would like these reflections to be crowned by Mary, because she lived the Beatitudes of Jesus as none other. She is that woman who rejoiced in the presence of God, who treasured everything in her heart, and who let herself be pierced by the sword. Mary is the saint among the saints, blessed above all others. She teaches us the way of holiness and she walks ever at our side. She does not let us remain fallen and at times she takes us into her arms without judging us. Our converse with her consoles, frees and sanctifies us. Mary our Mother does not need a flood of words. She does not need us to tell her what is happening in our lives. All we need do is whisper, time and time again: “Hail Mary…” Reflection from Pope Francis - Gaudete Et Exsultate Rejoice and Exult |

Dear All,
Next week is Book Week at Holy Trinity. Please read below....
- Perform Education will be here on the Tuesday 23rd August, the show is called ‘Story Quest’ and is based on the BW theme ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’
- There are two performances; ELC – Year 2 at 12.15, and the next is at 2.00pm for Years 3 – 6.
- Click HERE - To access digital activities, the songs performed at the show and the dance the students will be doing.
On Thursday 25th August, we will once again have our famous Holy Trinity Book Week Parade…. students are invited to come to school in a costume /outfit that reflects a book character that they love or enjoy.
- It is always great if your child knows what character they are. If possible, send in a copy of the book they are using or even a picture of the front cover.
- Weather permitting, we will meet on the basketball courts at 9.10am and have our Book Week Parade there.
- At this stage parents, carers and grandparents are most welcome to come along (BYO chair). It’s been such a long time since we have seen you all.
- Please send your child with a coat and even a towel to sit on.
- After our parade, the children will then head to the hall to celebrate the winning books.
- Check out the Book Week shortlist for 2022… https://cbca.org.au/shortlist-2022
- There will be prizes given across the grades for best dressed or original outfit. The theme for 2022 Book Week is ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’. I find that Pinterest is a great resource to check out costume ideas.
Story Box Library https://storyboxlibrary.com.au/ is an online resource that Holy Trinity subscribes to. It is a wonderful resource that families can access at home. This year Story Box Library has put together a selection of books that are on the 2022 Book Week Shortlist. If you get a moment over the weekend please let your children watch a few of the shortlisted books.

Father's Day stall is happening on Friday 2nd September
The Holy Trinity Fathers' Day stall will be held this year on Friday 2nd September. For those not familiar with the stall the idea is that each child gets to ‘buy’ a gift for their dad.
To make things easier for families this year, the P&F will procure all the gifts for the stall. We ask you to contribute $5 per child via Qkr which goes towards the cost of the gifts and a donation to the L'Archce Foundation. Every year the Father's Day stall donates all profits to this terrific local charity, who provide people with intellectual disabilities the support they need to lead fulfilling and empowered lives.
Payment for the Father's Day stall is in the School Events menu on Qkr in the Holy Trinity P&F section.
We understand some families in our community might be experiencing financial hardship and we want to assure those families that all children will be invited to participate in the Father’s Day stall irrespective of payment. No child will be excluded.
If you are in a position to donate a ‘gift’ to support a less fortunate family in our community, we would be thrilled - it’s as easy as making an additional contribution via Qkr.
HELPER REQUIRED:
On Thursday 25th August, there will be a 'wrap and wine' evening in the school hall commencing at 7.15pm. Also, on the day, Friday 2nd September, we require a number of Mother helpers to assist with the stall between 8.30am – 11.00am.
To volunteer, please click here and complete the form which will be sent through to Lisa Bauer.
This term we are pleased to welcome back the school disco. Students will be excited to dust off their dancing shoes for the evening of 8 September 2022 and are encouraged to dress in 80’s theme.
The disco is being held in the school hall with drop off and pick-up via the kitchen garden. Two disco session are being held with students from ELC - Year 2 from 5pm-6:15pm and Year 3-6 6:30pm-8pm.
Student will be provided with a BBQ dinner, drink, glow stick and given a treat at the end the evening. Tickets can be purchased via Qkr! under the Holy Trinity P&F tab and sales will close Tuesday 6 September 2022.
During the disco, parents are invited to gather at the Parish Centre for cheese and wine with a gold coin donation at the door.
The disco is brought to you by KidsBiz and the school’s Parents and Friends committee. We welcome students and parents to join us for these wonderful, social and fun events.
There are two uniform shop opening times for in-store shopping and two deliver to classroom dates between now and the end of term. We encourage you to place any summer uniform orders you may have for term 4 2022 (or term 1 2023, if you like to plan ahead!) in the next few weeks.
All summer uniform components are in stock and available in Qkr! Since the last newsletter we have added coordinating headbands ($7.50) and pony bows ($5.00) for the summer dress.
As part of our COVID-19 safety protocols, where families are shopping in-store, we ask that family members (over 12) consider wearing a mask, in line with health guidance, and family groups continue to socially distance from other family groups.

CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION - School Board and Community Council Review
RE: SCHOOL BOARD AND COMMUNITY COUNCIL REVIEW
The Catholic Education Commission endorsed the establishment of a Working Group to review various aspects of Archdiocesan School Board and Community Council models.
During the course of this year the Working Group has engaged in targeted consultation with internal stakeholders and has had some preliminary discussions with a narrow group of external stakeholders, including representatives from the Catholic School Parents Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn.
The Working Group is now seeking to draw on the experiences, expertise and perspectives of parents and carers, school staff and members of school communities through a process of general consultation. To this end, an Issues Paper has been drafted outlining the key issues that the Working Group has identified to date and posing a number of discussion questions that the Working Group is seeking responses to.
Click here to access the Issues Paper
Members of your school community can go to the webpage: https://cg.catholic.edu.au/school-board-and-community-council-review/foreword/ to submit a response to the questions posed in the Issues Paper.
The closing date for submissions is 2 September 2022.
If you have any questions about the Review, please direct them to Sarah Meier, General Counsel and Governance, Risk and Policy Manager via email sarah.meier@cg.catholic.edu.au or by telephone 0433 997 077.
