Week 5 Award Winners

ICAS and Maths Olympiad Winners

Not only did we celebrate our students' learning achievements recently, but also the learnings of our staff. Each of our teachers across the ELC and school participated in their own professional inquiry project throughout the year, that enabled staff to further their own capabilities, pursue a passion, go outside their comfort zone, stretch their learning and creativity and take action to further develop this craft of teaching.
As Guy Claxton says, “we want our students to naturally think critically, creatively and collectively about the world in which they find themselves, find or devise work that is fulfilling and responsible and strive to make our world a better and safer place to inhabit for generations to come.” I thank our incredibly talented teachers for their efforts to further explore this professional inquiry research, to ensure our students are given every opportunity to grow and be motivated to exercise their attitudes of resilience, curiosity and collaboration.

It was also wonderful today to welcome all our Kindergarten students and their parents/carers for 2023 to orientation day yesterday morning. It is always such a privilege to be able to share with families all the incredible characteristics of our school, including the warm and caring community. At this time of year we not only welcome those for 2023, but sadly we also farewell community members. On our school staff we thank and farewell the following members:
- Brendon Pye, who has been awarded an Deputy Head Of Junior School position at Burgmann College
- Tracey Hanlon, who has been awarded a teaching position at Radford College
- Kathy Falaras, who is taking a CSA position at Mother Teresa
- George Passaris & Katelyn Judd, who are both travelling overseas next year.
Mel Punyer will also continue next year on maternity leave and Jane Foley and Angela Small will be taking leave for 2023.

Holy Trinity 2022 Swimming Program Kinder- Year 5
Holy Trinity commences its annual swimming program for Years K-5 this upcoming Tuesday the 29th of November. This program runs Tue -Fri for Weeks 8 and 9 ( 8 days).
Students will undertake this program at Stromlo Leisure Centre and will be taken to and from Holy Trinity via bus.
Students are to arrive at school each day with their swimmers under their school clothing as they will not be able to get changed at school before they leave for the pool. On return from their lesson, students will be able to change out of their swimmers and into their school clothing. Students will not be able to change their clothing at Stromlo Leisure Centre.
Students will need to bring an extra bag for their wet gear each day.
Thank you for all your help preparing our students for this program.
Pleas note that today a COMPASS notification will be sent to all families for parents/carers to give permission for their child to travel to and from school to the pool at Stromlo by bus. Please ensure this is completed by Monday 28 November, thank you.
Kind regards,

Dear Children, Parents, Grandparents, and significant others,
All library books are due to be returned to the library by the end of Week 8, Friday, 2nd December (next week).
Please send anything back with a Holy Trinity barcode. I will send out overdue notices in Week 9 and then again in Week 10.
If you get an overdue notice, please look extra hard for the missing books – Type in the name of the book on google and see if an image helps you find the book. Come in and search for the missing book, send me an email, and if all else fails you will need to pay the fine.
The library will be closed in Week 10 for stocktake.
Final Book Club orders for 2022 are also due by the end of Week 8 - Friday 2nd December. Orders can be submitted online via the Scholastic website or the LOOP app. All books will be delivered directly to the school.
Happy Reading and God Bless,
Kate Mertz
