Welcome to Week 6, as my first week at Holy Trinity comes to a close I am filled with gratitude for the welcome I have received from the staff and students. Mid term 1 is a difficult time to transition to a new school. During the week a Year 6 class took the opportunity to put me in the hotseat and ask questions that interested them. What is my favourite food, do I have a pet, and by far the trickiest, if I could change one decision from the past what would it be? I found this one difficult to answer as I believe that things happen for a reason and regret is a negative emotion that can easily impact your wellbeing. I prefer to look at mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow. Just as we would encourage our students to do. As I return to Catholic Education after many years I am excited by the possibilities, continuing to work in an IB School and in a community of curious lifelong learners. I look forward to meeting you all as the term progresses. Please feel welcome to drop into my office for a chat or send me an email if you have anything you would like to discuss.
It was the perfect week to join Holy Trinity with the wonderful Year 2 Red class assembly on Monday afternoon. It was a pleasure seeing and hearing about their learning so far this year. Followed by Hot Dog & Snow Cone day on Tuesday where the P&F and parent volunteers worked busily to distribute what seemed like hundreds of hotdogs and fruity snowcones to the very excited students and some very eager teachers!
Our Year 6 students will be heading to Jindabyne early on Tuesday morning to enjoy hiking, canoeing and team building persuits. They will continue to build their leadership skills and will no doubt return to us on Thursday a little tired and weary!
Year 3 and Year 5 begin NAPLAN on Wednesday, March 15 at 9.30am. A reminder will be sent to families involved.
Next Thursday, March 16 will be our School Photos for ELC to Year 5. Please ensure students are in their full summer uniform. The Year 6 photos and 2 ELC classes will take place on Tuesday, March 21.
Have a wonderful long weekend.

Reconciliation Presentation Mass
Last weekend during the Masses at Holy Trinity Church (Saturday 6pm, Sunday 9.30am & 5.30pm), our 2023 Reconciliation candidates were presented to the Parish community. This is a special occasion where our Parish community join together with our Reconciliation candidates and their families, in prayer and support as they engage in their final preparations for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I ask that you keep out Reconcilation cadidates in your prayers during this time.
Year 3/4: Easter Raffle Donations

Let’s get down to buzz-ness at the Working Bee!
The annual working bee is a hive of activity with many parents and kids getting bee-sy gardening and cleaning the school and ELC grounds.
We are seeking a swarm of help to assist with:
- weeding the front of the school, kitchen garden, and ELC garden beds
- mulching gardens (including ELC)
- sweeping and tidying sand pits (school and ELC)
- filling the bottom of sloped area near basketball court
- high pressure clean of ELC deck.
Materials are provided by the school. If you have any tools to lend, we will be buzzed to have wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes and a pressure hose.

We mustard-mit, hot dogs were a sauce-ess!
Hot diggity dog, what a fun lunch - we distributed over 340 hotdogs and 350 snow cones!
A special thanks to the Prohibition Bottle Shop for the generous donation of ice, and KidsBiz for lending the snow cone machines, and donations of cups and spoons.
Thank you to the wonderful year 2 students for their posters and enthusiasm, as well as the parents for lending slow cookers so we could cook the hot dogs! Thank you to year 6 students for their help and the following parents: Katie, Ginny, Bec, Courtney, Rhiana, Nicola, Nikki, Jenni, Michelle, Kim and Brad, and Tash and Scott.
Over $1500 was raised for the P&F, and over 300 happy Holy Trinity and ELC kids left school with bellies full and huge smiles on their faces!

Happy Families Schools - "NAPLAN week is almost here"
With NAPLAN week quickly approaching and the mixture of emotions and media furore associated with this time of the school year, this timely article by Happy Schools provides a balanced perspective of the debate. More importantly, however, it suggests ways to continue supporting our learners to ensure they emerge from this time of the year with a greater understanding of what we value in our education.
Last week K-1 participated in a wonderful water fun day while the rest of the school were at the Swimming Carnival. Our students had the opportunity to rotate through four awesome activities: water relays, a slip and slide, a bubble dance party, and a water fight! To top it all off we finished with a yummy icy pole in the shade of the Kitchen Garden.
Thank you to all the woderful teachers and parents who made this possible. An especially BIG thank you to Natasha and Scott from Kids Biz. Not only did they donate the equipment for these wonderful rotations, they also coordianted the set up and pack up on the day. Thank you so much!
