Lord, bless our teachers who constantly brighten our lives with the call to move forward while learning from our past. Love conquers all. The only lesson we need to learn in life is to LOVE. To love God, to love neighbour, to love self and to love the world God gifted us. Amen
Dear Friends,
it is wonderful to return to Holy Trinity after an incredible trip to the Holy Land, and be welcomed back by our beautiful community. I look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks, about the places I was privileged to visit, that I have spent many years learning about in the Old and New Testament. It was also lovely in the holidays to attend Mass at the Cathedral with Carlee Toni (Kindergarten Red) who celebrated her university graduation. We are so blessed at this school to have such a talented and committed teaching staff.
Week 2 is the beginning of enrolment period for 2024 for all Catholic Schools in our Archdiocese. Yesterday we began our first Open Day, and welcomed many interested families to both our school and ELC. As families toured our school, it is always a privelege and a pleasure to talk about the unique and exceptional PYP education offered at Holy Trinity.
At Holy Trinity, we are proud to be part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) community, a worldwide network of educators who share a common belief that education can help build a better world. As a PYP school, we strive to offer our learners a rich and engaging educational experience grounded in the IB's Approaches to Teaching and Learning while embracing our school community's unique and diverse nature.
Our PYP curriculum at Holy Trinity is broad, balanced, conceptual, and connected. It incorporates six transdisciplinary themes of global significance and the IB's Approaches to Teaching & Learning. This comprehensive approach creates a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and global citizenship.
One example of our commitment to inquiry-based learning is our annual PYP Exhibition, where learners showcase their understanding of complex issues and concepts, applying their research, critical thinking, and presentation skills. This event highlights the culmination of our learners’ PYP journey, demonstrating their ability to connect their learning to real-world situations and contribute positively to their community.
As part of the worldwide community of IB educators, Holy Trinity benefits from the regular evaluation and development of IB programs, incorporating the insights of educators from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The review process ensures that practising educators play a critical role in the development of each program, and our vision is continuously refined, and informed by research from the IB and other respected academic bodies. This collaborative approach guarantees that our learners receive the best possible education, informed by current educational research and the experiences of educators around the world.
At Holy Trinity, we value our families as an integral part of our school community. We actively involve parents and community members in our learning experiences through events such as next week's Mother's Day Celebration or through tapping into the breadth of expertise within our school community, where learners celebrate the diverse cultures represented at our school. Over the coming months, as we continue to strive for continual growth, we will be continuing to seek parent and community feedback about our educational offerings. We intend to do this by offering a range of parent workshops to provide insights into our PYP curriculum and teaching strategies, fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
Holy Trinity's PYP education offers a dynamic, connected, and empowering learning experience as part of a global community of educators. Our commitment to the IB's mission of developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who will help create a better and more peaceful world has never been more relevant or necessary. Our learners are encouraged to reach their full potential within a supportive and inclusive environment where teaching and learning are grounded in the IB's approaches and principles. As a member of the Holy Trinity family, you are part of this inspiring educational journey, contributing to the development of compassionate and engaged global citizens. Thank you for your continued support and participation in our vibrant school community.
We look forward to seeing many of you next week at our Athletics Carnival on Thursday and our Mother's Day breakfast and prayer celebration on Friday.
Have a wonderful weekend and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.
Philippa and the staff of Holy Trinity
