Dear Friends,

Welcome to Term 4 of 2023!!  We have had a fabulous start to the term, plenty of happy faces, enthusiasm and sunshine!!  Thank you for all you have done to ensure your children are excited and prepared for school this term!!  As a community, our major focus over the coming weeks will be preparing for our fete on the 25th of November-  please see below!!  Last night the committee met and we are incredibly grateful for the support and generosity of our school and local community. Next week we will be facilitating a stallholders' meeting on Wednesday night, and launching our raffle on Thursday 19th of October.   Next Thursday every child will be allocated raffle tickets with clear information about the process.

It is with a heavy heart that we have also started this term with two wars now happening across our world.  After only recently visiting Israel and Jordan, it is incredibly tragic to now see the devastation, destruction and overwhelming loss. Let us continue to prayer for reconciliation and peace for all.

Swimming Program - Weeks 8 and 9

This week a hard copy Student Enrolment Form will be coming home with your child. This must be filled in and returned to their classroom teacher ASAP. This is a requirement from Stromlo Leisure Centre, where our swimming lessons will be conduced. Thank you for doing this quickly, so that our swimming lessons can be organised.

Congratulations to Mrs Waslin (Miss Meany) on her wedding in the holidays, also shared with her students in 3 Red!!  It was  wonderful to receive the news that Mrs Leemhuis has welcomed baby number three, Lara Nellie on the 25th of September!!! 

I look forward to sharing a wonderful Term 4 with all in our community, filled with great learning, events and hope, leading up to Christmas.

Thank you to all who participated and donated a gold coin on the last day of term 3. We were able to raise over $500 for Catholic Missions Australia! It was great to see so many bright and colourful socks!!!

Preschool Unit of Inquiry - Communities Help and Support Each Other

We are seeking families who may have a volunteer role or career in a community focussed occupation eg fire fighters, police, ADF, nurse, doctor, help-line, vet etc, to come and share your role with the preschoolers. We are fully flexible with the timing of a visit. If you are interested please email or call the ELC Office. elc.holytrinity@cg.catholic.edu.au.

Stay and Play

Stay and Play is a playgroup for pre-preschoolers and their carer each Wednesday in school term 9am-10am in the ELC Adventure Garden (weather permitting). All families and the broader community are welcome to attend.

2023 Yearbook Cover Competition

Calling all artists!

This year we are holding a compeittion to design the cover of our Holy Trinity Yearbook. Our theme for the year has been 'Walking Together', using this as your inspiration we invite entries from Kindergarten to Year 6.  

Your design can be black and white or colour and needs to be on an A4 sheet of white paper or card.

Entries need to be submitted to Mrs Sheargold by Friday October 27. The winning entry will be on the cover of the 2023 Yearbook.

Friday, 27^th October – Friday, Week 3. Catalogues have been sent home this week.

This is the final Book Club for 2023, it is jam packed with fabulous books and Christmas fun.

BYOD Parent Information Session

As your child is preparing for Year 3 in 2024, we invite you to attend a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) information session. This session is on Tuesday October 24 at 5:30pm, in the Year 2 classrooms. This session is for families of children in Year 2, going into Year 3 in 2024 and any new families to Holy Trinity.

The BYOD information session is a great opportunity for parents to learn more about how we use devices and ICT at Holy Trinity, understand device requirements, and ask any burning questions. Families will then have time to organise a device for their child before the beginning of the 2024 school year.
