Let us give thanks, O Lord, for all the blessings we have. May we always seek your truth and wisdom in all our endeavours.
We pray for everyone who has contributed to the financing, designing, and building of our new learning spaces, especially Catholic Education, ACT Block Grant Authority,CollinsPenningtonnn and Pier Projects. Inspire and guide them as they continue to serve their communities
We pray for ArchbishopChristopherProwseee, Fr John and our parish community. May they continue to grow in the love and peace of Christ, building a community of support and friendship with each other and in Christ.
We pray for those less fortunate than we are. Teach us to see with your eyes their tremendous dignity and to care for them as you care. May they experience your compassion, concern, and love.
We give thanks for the dedication, support, and trust of our past and present families. May our school community continue to be blessed with such generous and supportive people.
We pray for all the staff of Holy Trinity, bless, guide and care for them as they strive to meet the educational and spiritual needs of all our students.
Lord God of all, we ask your abundant blessings upon this school and its new learning spaces. We ask that you guide and protect those who delivered this new building, and those who work and learn here. May Holy Trinity remain a place where we live out Jesus’ message of Faith, Hope and Love. We make this prayer through your son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, our helper and guide.
Dear Friends,
The prayers of intercession above were shared at our new building opening and blessing on Monday morning. It was a very special event, shared with many guests- our builders, architects, personnel from Catholic Education, our Director Ross Fox,PatrickMcArdleee, Vicar for Education andAliciaPayneee MP, representing the Australian Government. The Australian Capital Grant Program gave our school, along with Catholic Education, two generous contributions towards our project, allocated through the ACT Block Grant Authority. It was also wonderful to have our parent community represented by members of our School Board Cath Day, MichelleCains and StephenCarberry.
Our new building includes 5 new classrooms, with flexible learning spaces, glass sliding doors and a breakout area with a wet area for art lessons. Access to the bottom classroom is via internal stairs and a wheelchair ramp. Our School counsellor makes use of the purpose-built office downstairs, enabling a private and warm space for children and families to visit. The glass area around this access enables natural light to shine throughout the building and expose the natural environment that surrounds the school buildings. Since inhabiting this new space from Term 2 last year, we have seen the well-being impact of the changes to this learning environment on our students and staff through improved lighting, ventilation and heating. This area of the school which previously was dark and gloomy, is now vibrant and inviting. The students are proud of this learning space and were incredibly excited and grateful to inhabit the area after two and a half years in portables, (due to a hold up in construction duringCOVID). It was wonderful to have our Year 3, 5, and 6 students representing our school at this blessing and opening, as they are the centre of all our joy, the reason I have incredibly high expectations, the reason why I consistently strive for excellence, and most importantly, the reason why Holy Trinity exists.
Congratutions to two of our families who have recently welcomed a beautiful new addition to their world! Spencer P's (2R) dad and partner Emily welcomed Melia and the Stakelum family Vivienne (1R) and Pierce (3G) welcomed Hermione, also known as Minnie.

We will begin the next term on Tuesday 30th of April. For the next 6 months we will be having some staffing changes as I have accepted an executive position with Catholic Education as a team member is going on leave. I will be working with a cluster of about 20 schools in our diocese to build and enhance capacity to deliver educational outcomes. As many of you know I am extremely passionate about delivering high educational outcomes for our students and developing leadership in others. This opportunity also enables our school leadership to grow. Prue Sheargold will be acting Principal in my absence and I thank her for enabling this opportunity, as without her, I would not have considered the position for the 6 months. Emily Capper will be returning to Holy Trinity next term, and will be our Assistant Principal for the two terms. Tom O'Rourke will continue as coordinator, and we will be seeking expressions of interest within our staff over the next week, to fill the position of Religious Education Cooridnator for 6 months. As you can imagine, after being here for over seven years, to leave for a while has not been an easy decision, however, I know our community is in incredibly capable hands with Prue and our leadership team. I look forward to returning to our special community in October.
As we end another successful term at Holy Trinity I thank everyone for all they give to our community, both seen and unseen. I would particularly like to thank Ginny, Romy and our clothing pool volunteers, who have been working so hard to ensure everyone is fitted with the winrter uniform for next term. I know there has been an incredible amount of time given volunteering to enable this to happen. Thank You.
During the break,we celebrate ANZAC Day, and ourschool will be commemorating this on Tuesday 30th of April at 2:30pm. Please see the RE News for more information about this event. We will also be celebrating Mother's Day on Friday 10th May at 2:30pm.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break and enjoy slowing down and being together. I will miss seeing you all, however I look forward to coming back in October to our incredible Holy Trinity community.
Warmest wishes,
Philippa
