Dear families and carers,
This week our Year 5 team with Mrs Mertz and Mr O' Rourke travelled to Collaroy for camp. So far they have been challenging themselves in the giant swing, team intitiatives and surfing lessons! We look forward to welcoming them home tomorrow afternoon, no doubt weary and full of stories about their adventures. A huge thank you to the staff who have given up time with their own families to support our learners.
Last Friday we were entertained by Year 1 Green as they presented their Sharing the Planet inquiry. Dressed from zoo keepers to a menagerie of animals it was wonderful to hear the students share thier knowledge of what animals need to survive and what we need to grow and thrive. It was clear to see how Year 1 have been developing their research skills in their information reports. It is amazing to reflect how far they have come since term 1. Well done Year 1.
Today 1 Red and 1 Green showcased their learning, opening their classrooms and welcoming families to share their amazing research skills and knowledge around animals, their habitats, and fun facts. It was great to see the students confidently sharing their research and using their communications skills to enhance the knowledge of our visitors.
Remembrance Day
On November 11 at 11.00am we will observe one minute's silence to remember all those who died or suffered for Australia's causes in all wars and armed conflicts. We will be holding Remembrance Day Ceremony at 10.30am on Monday, thank you to Year 5 who will be leading us in this ceremony.
Drop off supervision
We have noticed there has been a number of students arriving before 8:30am at school, if your child arrives before 8:30 they need to place their bag in their line and be seated until a teacher comes on duty. Please remind your child that this is the expectation. Students can be booked into Before School Care through KidsBiz if you need to drop your children early. This ensures the safety of all our students.
2025 Fete
Thanks to the dedicated families that have begun the planning for our 2025 Fete in March. We are beginning to collect prizes for our raffle with more information coming soon! If you, or a business you know may be able to donate a prize we would love to hear from you. Prue.Sheargold@cg.catholic.edu.au
Please keep an eye on our calendar for all the end of year events, it is a busy time and I hope families find time to recharge over the weekend.
