We pray Lord, that we may know ourselves and open ourselves honestly to you. We ask you for the courage to face what is not good in ourselves and the honesty to accept the gift of your forgiveness. Be with us Lord in the Spirit of reconciliation and in the forgiveness of Jesus, our Son, who died and rose from death for our sins. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Term 4!! My favourite time of the year as it always brings with it lovely weather, Year 6 Exhibition and Graduation, Kinder orientation and the excitement of the birth of Jesus! This week we met with parents preparing their children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation later in the term. Let us keep these families in our prayers as they journey through this important preparation time with their children.
Thank you to Beck Casey, staff and the parents that attended our ICT and BYOD information night. In our ICT section of the newsletter today Beck has included information discussed and presented at this night for those who were unable to attend or who are interested in knowing more about ICT at Holy Trinity.
As well as beginning to develop strategic planning for 2020 and beyond, we are currently advertising for staffing positions to be filled for next year. A couple of these have come from an increase in our enrolments, resulting in Holy Trinity going from 14 to 16 classes for 2020- changes include 3 x Kinders, 3 x Year 1 and 4 x 5 /6 classes. Meg Millband will be continuing permanently at our school after coming over on a transfer for this year, which we are thrilled about. We also congratulate Stephanie Leehmuis and Brigitta Van Deas who will be taking maternity leave again in 2020-Brigitta is expecting her third child in March and Stephanie, her second child in January.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome to our School Board for 2020 three new members: Lucy Vincent, Andrew Peereboom and Penny O'Connell. I always feel such gratitude being a part of a community who are always so willing to give of their time for the benefit of our students and the wider community. During the holidays, I spent a bit of time reflecting as we being strategic planning for 2020 and beyond and I thought extensively about this idea of gratitude. When reading "Braving the Wilderness" by Brene Brown, she quotes:
"The key to joy is practising gratitude".
I feel blessed that I am part of such a wonderful community at Holy Trinity of which I feel immense gratitude and joy.
With every best wish for a holy and peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families,
Philippa
