RE NEWS

Rememberance Day

We began this week with a most reverent and significant prayer service acknowledging Rememberance day.  I sincerely thank Mel Punyer and 3/4 B for leading the school as well as Alfonso Santos and Rob Gray for their contribution. We also pay tribute to all service people in our community who were unable to attend. We were privileged to listen to a speech by Alfonso Santos, who outlined to the students and community about the importance of rememebering those who have served our country over our short history. Those men and women have sacrficed many things for us so that we can live in a country where we have access to fresh water, healthy food, good housing, good education and more importantly the right for indivudal freedom. Our school includes a number of Defence families and we think of all those, especially those who are serving away from home.

Reconciliation Parish Mass

We warmly welcome you to join us this Saturday the 16th of November to our Parish Mass. During the Parish Mass this weekend, we will be presenting our students who are making the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Following Mass, the Parish Council will be putting on a BBQ. All are welcome!

Reconciliation

Students who are making the Sacrament of Reconciliation are required to provide a copy of their Baptism Certificate to the Parish Office before the Sacrament. Without this, students will not be able to receive the Sacrament. Students who were Baptised at Holy Trinity do not need to do this. A copy can be dropped in at the office or emailed to Catherine. Her email is wodennorth@cg.org.au

Reconciliation Dates

Saturday 16th November  - Reconciliation Presentation Mass followed by a BBQ by the Parish Council

Tuesday 26th November – Retreat Day for Reconciliation candidates.

Thursday 28th November – Sacrament of Reconciliation, 7:00pm at Holy Trinity Church

Illumiante

On Friday 8th November, our Year 5 students travelled to St Vincent’s at Aranda to participate in the ‘Illuminate’ Youth Ministry Day.

The Illuminate gathering was a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate their faith together, through a variety of talks, drama, testimonies and other faith based activity stations and experiences.

We had a very prayerful, engaging and fun day. Mr Bugden and I had a lovely time with our Year 5 students, and we were very proud of the children for the reverent way they participated in the day.
