Despite constant reminders to ensure children are arriving to school and going home safely each day, unsafe practices are still occurring both in the morning and afternoon.  In the morning, unfortunately there are still families parking their cars in the drop off zone parallel to the white logs, and thus causing congestion, as cars cannot flow through the area successfully.  If you wish to stop in the mornings, please park in allocated parks, on Theodore st, or around the back of the Presbytery. Children are also to walk around the back of the school-  many are now coming through the office area from the ring road, which is not an access point in the mornings. 

The ring-road at the front of the school is now accessible for traffic coming through the day to drop off e.g. trucks delivering, parents arriving  for appointments with their children and those needing the disabled car park. We have at least three families now needing the disabled car park and access to the front of the school.

There also seems to be an increasing number of children being dropped off early in the morning, and not accessing Before School Care.  Teachers begin morning duty at 8:30am.  If children come before this, for their safety, they are asked to please sit on the seats around morning assembly area until the duty teacher comes out. 

We will soon be having interim work done to fill in the potholes around the car park.  In the summer holidays, when the weather is hotter and thus the best time to pour bitumen, the car park area will be refurbished.  During this project, we hope to widen the pick up area in the afternoon and allow for more car parking and pathways to avoid families walking through the gardens and sloped areas.
