"God has no called me to be successful. He has called me to be faithful. We feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But is that drop were not there, I think the ocean would be less for that missing drop. If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love." (Mother Teresa)
May we walk in faith and trust, responsive to the movement of the Spirit. We make this prayer for all our Year 6 students who celebrated Confirmation last weekend.
Dear friends,
The above quote from Mother Teresa was taken from our Parish bulletin last weekend and kindly reminds us of the little things we can do in life, that can be much bigger things for others. Thank you to all our families who celebrated so reverently with us together last Sunday with Archbishop Prowse at the Sacrament of Confirmation. Also at these Masses Fr John made mention of the Transfiguration Parish Assembly to be held this Saturday 23rd of June 2-4pm in the Parish Centre. I encourage parents willing to become more involved in the future planning and direction of our Parish to attend this meeting.
Thank you also to all our parents and carers who came to our interviews and three way conferences this week. These meetings are vital to share where your child is progressing with their learning and to plan relevant learning goals for the next Semester. If you have not been able to attend these meetings this week, I urge you to contact your child's teacher via email to make an appointment before this Semester finishes.
In March 2019, Holy Trinity School will be visited by representatives from the International Baccalaureate Organisation, to evaluate our journey as an IB World School, offering the Primary Years Program.
The visiting team will look at every aspect of our School, from its leadership and management to the rigour of our academic programs to the ways in which students and parents are involved in the learning through inquiry.
In preparation for this we are currently undertaking a PYP self-study. The self-study is a requirement of the International Baccalaureate (IB). Our self-study is a year long process that involves staff, students, parents and board members. The purpose of the self-study is to ensure that we are maintaining the IB Programme Standards and Practices. As the staff conduct the self-study, we are looking to identify our achievements and areas that need further development in terms of our practices. The self-study allows teachers to reflect on their practices, but it also calls on parents and students to participate by reflecting on the school's practices and commitment to the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
We look forward to your participation and responses in this survey. Thanks in advance for your time and input.

Finally, I would like to thank all children and families who have been so generously supporting our Global Schools fundraising for Evaland Hekima school in Kenya. We are well on our way to reaching our target to ensure this community can have some basic needs met, such as clean water from a water tank. Thank you also to the families who came to the Trivia night on Friday night- all prizes our tables won have will be donated to our fete later in the year. On Wednesday of Week 10, we will be presenting Global School Partners with our donation from these efforts this term to take to Kenya in July. Kristy Everding and myself are very privileged to be going to Kenya with a team of 8 health care workers and educators to visit many of the GSP schools in July school holidays. Of course, we will be visiting Evaland Hekima and taking many photos to share with our community when we return.
With every best wish for a holy and peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.
