Dear Families,
Welcome to the end of Term 3, already! I wanted to start by extending a very huge thank you to all the wonderful teachers and staff, in particular to Katie Smith and Brendon Pye who have seamlessly guided and led our school this Term. The family community are very grateful to have such a strong and dedicated team looking after our children, and we thank you for your hard work, professionalism and dedication to learning.
For those of you that have been at the school less than two years, you may have missed the wonderful community connection that has always been so important at Holy Trinity (prior to the pandemic). There are many activities and gatherings we have missed out on due to COVID restrictions. The School Board would like to thank the efforts of Paul Osborne, Lisa Bauer and all the P&F for helping our community reconnect this year. It is certainly starting to feel like we are edging towards normality with a couple of gatherings this Term and some more planned for next Term. Please get involved and support the P&F with the upcoming Walkathon next Friday 23 September (still some volunteers required), and the Tasting Night on Saturday 29 October.
Our children (and families!) have been abuzz with the recent Book Week Parade and Disco. It was so fabulous to be on the school grounds watching all the amazing dress ups, and what a parent turn out too. It was a great feeling to be a part of it, thanks so much Mrs Mertz and to the school for organising a great morning. Another recent long-awaited event was the school disco. What a fun night for the children, thanks to DJ Feerick and KidsBiz. Also thanks to the P&F for providing catering for the parents.
Finally, I wanted to remind families of the school tuckshop. Lunch meals are available every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and can be ordered via Qkr. The meals are prepared and delivered by The Merchant’s Feast, a local catering business. Delicious take home meals and grazing boxes are also available to order. If you are able to volunteer on a Friday to help with lunch orders, please use the SignUp link that was sent to you earlier or email holytrinitytuckshop@gmail.com. Thanks to KidsBiz who provide a staff member each Friday, we only need two volunteers on a Friday from 9.00 – 11.15am, and it’s fun and easy! None of this would be possible without the ongoing help from our Year 6 Leaders. What an absolute asset to our school and community. They turn up every shift and help to organise and deliver the meals to classes. They are polite, friendly and hard working and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them this year. Earlier this year, the School Board approved the installation of a grease trap. This work is almost complete and will allow for a full range of cooking to be undertaken in the tuckshop. We were previously limited to a ‘heat and serve’ arrangement. There will be some exciting things happening in this space next Term, so keep an eye out.
Thanks so much everyone for making our school such a delight to be a part of. Take care, and I look forward to seeing you all soon at one of the school’s upcoming events.
