"Stand at the crossroads and look:
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16
I cannot thank you all enough for the incredible achievements of last term! I feel very thankful especially to Katie Smith, the Executive team and staff who worked tirelessly again, for the children and families in our care. There were so many wonderful events celebrated last term together- The Sacrament of Eucharist, walkathon, school disco, talent show, tournament of minds just to name a few!! Congratulations to the achievements of all our students last term, especially those below, who were presented with awards during Week 10.

Because there are no restrictions the following can now happen at school:
- Parents can now come into the front office and sign their children in and out- they are then able to collect from classrooms
- Parents are welcome to be volunteers in the classroom, once notified by teachers
- Wet weather pick up will be in the hall- all children will assemble there and parents park and pick up
- Assemblies, prayers celebrations and school Masses can now have parents in attendance! They will no longer be live streamed.
- School camps and excursions will happen throughout the term
- Sanitising is still recommended
- Children are still expected to stay at home if unwell
Speaking of school camps, next week, Year 5, their teachers, Jane Foley and myself will be enjoying camp together at Berry, from Monday- Wednesday. Year 3 and 4 will attend an excursion together at "Be Firm" in Symonston on Monday with Katie Smith, and the 3 /4 teachers. Year 4 will stay there for an overnight camp and Year 3 will return to school. Year 6 will attend camp in Week 6.

First Eucharist
At the end of last term, we gathered as a community to celebrate with many of the children in the Transfiguration Parish as they received their First Eucharist. All 3 Masses over the weekend were such beautiful, memorable celebrations for our families. It was wonderful to see some of our teachers also there supporting these students. A big congratulations to the children and their families on this very special occasion.

Day for Daniel
This year Holy Trinity will be participating in Day for Daniel on Friday 28th October. Day for Daniel is the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s national day of action for child safety awareness and education.
Wear Red, Educate, Donate is the theme for Day for Daniel as we strive to take action and conduct child safety activities in our local community to help in ‘Keeping Kids Safe’. Children are educated about their personal safety to empower them to Recognise, React and Report if they ever feel unsafe, or that something is not right.
Rather than a donation we are asking students to wear a red piece of clothing (T-Shirt, socks, hair ribbon etc). However, if you wish to make a donation please head to the Day for Daniel webpage.

Learning Journeys
Next week the ELC will host Learning Journeys, an opportunity to share in your child's learning. The Learning Journeys can include an opportunity to chat informally with your child's teacher. If you would like to discuss your child's learning or individual needs in greater depth, please make an appointment to meet with their teacher.
Details about your child's class Learning Journey's will be communicated via Seesaw.
Covid Update
The Covid-19 roadmap for schools has been superseded, with all Catholic Education Schools and ELC's returning to normal activities. Please refer to Phil's communication above regarding whole school adjustments.
For ongoing health and wellbeing for our children and community in the ELC the following practices will remain;
- handwashing on arrival at the ELC and throughout the day (ie children continue to enter the ELC via the bathrooms.)
- children displaying cold symptoms to remain at home
- daily cleaning of high touch points and equipment
The following practices will change:
- families may enter the ELC building (welcome!)
- staggered drop-off and pick-up times will cease. Drop-off time is now 9am and pick-up 3pm for those children in the preschool program.
- Excursions, Stay and Play, parent volunteering, will all resume.

Gwendolyn O Year 6 Red was selected to sing in the chorus of the Australian Opera’s performance of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.
She performed last Thursday and Saturday, with other selected members of her choir, the Woden Valley Youth Choir.
The kids rehearsed for months, and had enormous fun appearing on The Canberra Theatre stage alongside some incredible Australian singing stars.
What an opportunity!!
