Dear Friends,
The prayer above was shared at our Seasons For Growth celebration where we recognised with our parents of the participants, the wonderful learning and experiences from these sessions. Many of the themes were around the effectiveness of sharing loss and grief and relating these experiences to the seasons. This also aligned with our Church last week, recognising All Saints and All Souls Day. Please keep the Nehme family ( Indi and Zane) and the Konidaris family (Melina and Emilio) in your prayers, as both families have lost a grandparent recently.
Celebrating Learning
The Celebration of Learning is an integral part of the IB PYP curriculum framework and a pathway to strengthen our partnership between home and school. It is such a powerful opportunity for students to make their learning public and gain confidence by presenting it to an authentic audience. Through this process, students can embrace the different learner profiles to reflect on their learning by communicating what they now know and what they are inquiring into. We look for authentic ways to share learning with our families throughout the year. Last Friday we celebrated learning in Year 1 as they shared their knowledge and research through their Sharing the Planet inquiry. We also look forward to tonight’s PYP Exhibition where, at the top end of the school, our Year 6 students present an exhibition that celebrates their learning throughout their years at Holy Trinity. We look forward to sharing Exhibiton with you in next week's newsletter. Our awards assembly held on Wednesday morning was another way we celebrate our student achievements. Our learners have many opportunities throughout the year to celebrate and share their learning and we are grateful to our families for sharing in these opportunities. We hope you enjoy the article below from Year 1. This week we also celebrated our Yearbook 2023 cover competition winners, our cover will be illustrated by Audrey Eldridge from Year 4. The Yearbook will also include our 3 runners up Albert Burnett, Justine Tran & Evelyn Bannon's illustrations throughout the Yearbook.

Year 1 Micro Exhibition Extravaganza
Year 1 Micro Exhibition Extravaganza
Year 1 students were overwhelmed by the support from the Holy Trinity community as they celebrated their Sharing the Planet unit of inquiry last week. Year 1 has worked very hard over the past 6 weeks, exploring the concept of how humans care for the plants and animals we share the world with.
Year 1 had been inspired by the Year 3 mini exhibition and truly flourished on Friday morning whilst presenting not only to parents and carers but the entire school!
Mrs White and Mrs Goffin couldn’t be more proud of our year 1 collaborators, researchers and creative thinkers!
Please scan the QR code to view Year 1’s amazing multimodal information reports.

Early Childhood Australia's Statement on Play
The ECA's Statement on Play reflects the commitment to protect and promote the right of every child in Australia to play. The Statement draws on robust evidence from diverse disciplines on the essential nature of play and its impact on every child's wellbeing, learning and development. This includes the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, on the child's right to play.
Each Week the Newsletter will contain one of the 6 principles to promote and protect play for parents and carers.
PRINCIPLE TWO
Every child has a right to a balance of play experiences that
develop a healthy mind and body and a sense of wellbeing.
What can we do at home?
• Provide time and use language that supports children to problem-solve through their play and manage risk with minimal adult intervention.
• Seek out activities, information and everyday resources to support a balanced range of play experiences for different abilities and ages.
• Participate in community groups such as local playgroups, cultural playgroups, music and outdoor programs, library, toy library and mobile library facilities.
• Search out museums and institutions that welcome children and families and offer a mix of age-appropriate play experiences and interactions with content
Stay and Play
Stay and Play is a playgroup for pre-preschoolers and their carer each Wednesday in school term 9am-10am in the ELC Adventure Garden (weather permitting). All families and the broader community are welcome to attend.

In My Blood It Runs this Saturday 11th November at 11am,
FACE BOOKS,
The Marketplace, Shop H41, GungahlinThe text is non-fiction, and based on the documentary by the same name.
This is the story of Dujuan Hoosan, a 10-year-old Arrernte and Garawa boy. A wise, funny, cheeky boy. A healer. Out bush, his healing power (Ngangkere) is calm and straight. But in town, it's wobbly and wild, like a snake. He's in trouble at school, and with the police. He thinks there's something wrong with him. Dujuan's family knows what to do: they send him to live out bush, to learn the ways of the old people, and the history that runs straight into all Aboriginal people. So he can be proud of himself. Illustrated by Blak Douglas, winner of the Archibald Prize 2022.
Welcome to Week 5,
For the past four weeks the Year 2 classes have been unpacking and recreating Indigenous Dreamtime Stories – Dunbi the Owl, How the Birds got their Colours, The Kangaroo and the Porpoise and finally The Bat and the Crocodile. This work tied in with their UOI on Stories are shared through our traditions.
To complete the unit, yesterday in library lessons the very excited Year 2 classes presented their Dreamtime Booklets to the Kinder and Year One classes. It was such a special time. The Year 2 children were so proud of their work and the younger grades were the perfect audience.

Last but least next week (Week 6) is our last week of borrowing library books for 2023. All books are then due back in Week 7.
Happy Days,
Kate M xx
